The Fujitsu fi-6670/A scanner has up to two USB ports and up to three drivers that are certified for use with Kofax VRS 5.x. Matching the correct USB port to the correct driver and scan source are critical for properly configuring the scanner for use with Kofax VRS.

Hardware VRS (HVRS) Port

To the left of the main power switch and power cable connection the fi-6670/A scanner has a third-party card slot. When the scanner is connected using the USB port on HVRS board, Windows Device Manager will recognize the scanner as a Kofax Fujitsu USB Device and the Fujitsu fi-6670A scan source should be set as the Default scan source in the Kofax VRS Administration Console's Scanner Configuration screen. The Hardware VRS port uses proprietary drivers that are installed automatically by the Kofax VRS installer.

Native Port

To the right of the main power switch, under the fan, is the fi-6670/A scanner's native USB port. Scanners sold as the fi-6670 only have this single USB port. When the scanner is connected using its Native USB port, the Hardware VRS board is not utilized and Windows Device Manager recognizes the scanner as Fujitsu fi-6670dj.

• If the Legacy ISIS driver is installed, the Fujitsu fi-6670 scan source should be selected as the Default scan source in the Kofax VRS Administration Console's Scanner Configuration screen.
• If the PaperStreamIP (ISIS) driver is installed the Fujitsu fi-6670 PaperStream_IP scan source should be selected as the Default scan source.
